 Our staff members work to implement the vision of the CCYA. Our dedicated leaders are: 

Can Caxson Ray (Programme Coordinator)

Caxson is a founding member of CCYA and currently serves as the CCYA program coordinator. Caxson is a teacher and a development worker by profession (Bachelor Degree in Development Studies from Makerere University and Diploma in Education Secondary from Kyambogo University). He taught at St. Katherine Girls School and the Cranes Comprehensive School. He has worked with CCYA since 2005. He also worked with War Child Holland, African Population, and Health Research Centre Nairobi.

 

 

Guna Moses (Finance and Administrator)

Moses is currently the Finance and Administrator of CCYA, and a professional accountant. He is experienced in finance and accounting, having worked for both the Civil Society Organisations and the Government. Moses has worked as a records officer for a local government branch, an accountant with CARITAS Lira Reception and Rehabilitation Centre, a research assistant and with African Union, an accountant with Matheniko Development Forum (MADEFO) Karamoja, and an accounts assistant with Amolatar Town Council.  Currently, Moses runs a private consultancy firm as part time work.

 

Ogwal Denis (Programme Officer – OVC Project)

Denis is a dedicated full member of CCYA, and a social worker. Denis heads the CCYA orphan and vulnerable children project, funded by American Jewish World Service.  He has also worked with African population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), Nairobi as a consultant in education research. Has extensive experience in community mobilization and social research.

 

Ogwok Andrew Max (Programme Officer – CWD Project)

Max is a full member of CCYA. He is an Engineer and a Development Worker by profession.  He has worked with many organisations including Marie Stopes Uganda as a youth peer educator, Conflict Resolution by Youth (CRY) - Uganda an assistant program officer, and The Electoral Commission of Uganda as an information technology enrolment officer.  Previously, Max was a program assistant with CCYA, but currently works as a CCYA program officer heading the Children with Disabilities (CWDs) CCYA project, funded by the Global Fund for Children.  Max is also consulting for Advocacy for Violence Free Election (AVOFE) as a coordinator for Albetong Election Monitoring Team.  Max has additional skills in information technology, photography, and documentary creation. Max also updates and maintains CCYA’s web site, and runs a part time business in computer training, DVD sales, and secretarial services.

 

Adong Brendah Hope (Administrative Assistant)

Brendah is a full member of CCYA.  She is a Social Worker and has completed various capacity building trainings with organizations like the AIDS Information Centre and Development Training and Research Centre (DETREC).

 

 

 

Okola Calvin (Volunteer Environment Assistant)

Calvin holds a Certificate in Tropical Agriculture. He has worked for the National Agriculture Research Organisation (NARO), Uganda Red Cross Society – Lira, and the Department of Environmental Protection and Livelihood. He is currently working as a volunteer environment assistant with CCYA.

 

 

Aguma Tonny (Volunteer Environment Assistant)

Tonny holds a Certificate in Tropical Agriculture. He has worked for the National Agriculture Research Organisation (NARO), Uganda Red Cross Society Lira under the department of Environmental Protection and Livelihood. He is currently working as a Volunteer Environment Assistant with CCYA.  He and Calvin have studied and worked together since 2008.

 

Ojok Peter (Support Staff)

Peter is a support staff of CCYA. He has worked for Concerned Parents Association as a support staff from 2005 to 2009. He completed his driving course from Human Technical Lira, and is a qualified driver.  He is an experienced, skilled and hardworking person. He is as well a contact driver for CCYA.
